Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center

The Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center is an interesting Orange County museum with a constantly changing schedule of exhibitions, events, and activities. Muzeo, located in historic downtown Anaheim, is one of the city’s best venues, offering both indoor and outdoor spaces for your guests to be surrounded by world-class exhibits, private galleries, and lovely courtyards.

Through imaginative programming, the Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center engages the community in studying and celebrating our unique heritage, culture, and arts. Muzeo offers three permanent displays in addition to current exhibits:

Prior to the establishment of Muzeo in 2007, the Anaheim Museum curated this historical show. It is housed in the historic 1908 Carnegie Library building and houses a collection of objects that showcase Anaheim’s and the surrounding area’s history. The show includes artifacts ranging from fossil discoveries and ancient Indian crafts to 19th-century winery and citrus-farming tools, as well as display cases filled with treasures from Anaheim and Orange County’s past. The exhibition features a one-of-a-kind collection of things originally owned by the city’s founders and leaders, as well as mementos from Disneyland, Anaheim Stadium, and other historic sites.

The Carnegie Library in Anaheim, California, was established in 1908 and is the only Andrew Carnegie-financed public library still surviving in Orange County. Until 1963, it served as a public library. It operated as Anaheim’s personnel office throughout the 1970s and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It is now a part of the Muzeo, a museum of local culture, history, and art.

The Anaheim Heritage Center, which is part of the Anaheim Public Library system, is located next to Muzeo’s Main Gallery. This history room, which opened in 1967, houses about a million objects that have been collected and cataloged for use by scholars, students, and researchers. Trained library employees are on hand and ready to assist.
